Stop Israel's Plan to Displace 40,000

Israel's new big idea is called the Prawer Plan—and it will result in the forcible removal of 40,000 Bedouin people from their land.
Although the Bedouins are technically citizens of Israel, the Israeli government sees them as being "intruders in their own homes." To justify the forced relocation of 40,000 people, Israeli politicians are resorting to propagandistic scare tactics, such as the utterly unfounded claim that the Bedoins "seduced, kidnapped, or enslaved" 1,000 Israeli women and girls (not even one incident has been verified by Israeli police).

Today, people in Israel, Palestine, and around the world are taking action to stop this devastating plan.

Israel is incredibly afraid of losing legitimacy on the international stage and becoming, like apartheid South Africa, a pariah state. Because of this, international pressure makes a huge difference in compelling Israel to reconsider clearly inhumane and illegal proposals such as this.

These are two things you can do to stop the plan:
1. Sign a petition
2. Upload an image of yourself to StopPrawer.tumblr.com with a note featuring the hashtag #Stopprawer, like the one pictured above. I find the images already uploaded on this page very powerful. I'm sure Israel will find them simply terrifying.
